My Story
I am a mama of 2 with a serious passion for nutrition, good food, and helping new moms not only survive, but truly thrive during the early days, weeks, and months postpartum. Before becoming a mom I thought I could do it all myself. I nested like a crazy person, made a freezer full of meals, but without the right type, and amount, of support it didn't take long before it felt as though everything was going to come crashing down around me (thanks a lot postpartum hormones). Well... to make a long story short, this experience was the catalyst that led me to start Nourishing Hands. I combine my expertise in nutrition with my love for cooking to offer a little something extra to my postpartum doula clients. Because I believe when a mama is fed, nourished, and cared for, the whole family is able to thrive.
I earned my Master of Science degree in nutrition from California State University of Los Angeles. I have a focus on integrative & functional nutrition, which is a whole-systems, personalized nutrition approach to identifying and treating the root causes of nutrition related issues. I also completed a yearlong accredited supervised internship and passed a national board exam to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
My professional experience as an RDN is diverse. I started out in clinical nutrition at a level 1 trauma center working in the ICU, cardiovascular ICU, and medical/surgery units. After my time working in the hospital, I quickly realized that I wanted to work with patients to prevent all of the nutrition related health issues I was seeing so many people suffering from. So... I went on to work in weight management, one-on-one nutrition counseling, corporate wellness, and group nutrition education. While my career has led me down a variety of different paths, my passion for delicious, nutritious food has always been what I enjoy sharing with others the most.

It is the greatest honor to serve new moms, and their families, and I look forward to working with you.
